In the two months since we’ve been home, we’ve watched leaves turn from green to yellows and reds to brown before falling off tree branches now covered in icy snow.

In between, we dressed Baby K up for Halloween as an astronaut and her beloved boy cousin as a Ghostbuster, and together we strolled around the annual Sea Witch Festival in our favorite vacation spot on this side of the world.

For Thanksgiving, we celebrated with family in Western PA, stuffing our faces with lots of classic American food courtesy of a generous brother-in-law. And now we’re back in South Central PA munching on homemade cookies from kind neighbors for breakfast…

…and wrapping presents by the fire at night in these last lazy days before Christmas. ‘Tis the season.

Our lives suddenly got busy when we got back. Or, just arrived. It’s not as if Baby K had been here before. But you’d never know it. She hit the American soil crawling and, not too long after, walking. Now it’s hard to keep up with her as she totters all around.

Maybe in the new year I’ll find time to write about what it’s like being home. For now, I’ve got my hands full with Baby Toddler K, and playing Santa’s helper to Grammy, who is hosting this year’s Christmas craziness. It’ll be a big one with the whole family under one roof for the first time in four years. Here’s to a long-awaited reunion and a Merry Xmas!
Merry Christmas Rachel, Iggy and Baby! Tell everyone I said hello! Happy New Year! And do think, just about 14 years ago we met for the first time!
No way? 14 years? How has it been that long and when oh when did we last see each other? Hope you are well!
